WHO International Healthy Cities Conference
Wine Tasting & Ancient Corinth Day Tour from Athens / Cost: € 70.00

Dates / Schedule: 24.10.2014
Duration: 8 hours

Driving along the coastal road, we reach Corinth canal (short stop). Next sight of your day trip is Ancient Corinth, which was one of the most important cities of ancient Greece. It was to this megalopolis where the Apostle Paul came, worked and established a thriving church, subsequently sending two of his epistles, now part of the New Testament. We will visit the Agora and one of the most outstanding monuments of the pre-Roman period, the temple of Apollo.

Then you will continue your day tour from Athens to visit one of the most famous vineries of NEMEA. Greece is one of the top countries known for their tradition in viticulture - wine was produced here since the Neolithic Age (4000 B.C.); in Ancient times, wine has long been adored, praised and chanted in the name of god Dionysus.

Nowadays, Greek wine production abides by tradition but enhanced by modern technology, offering a wide variety of fine wines. NEMEA is one of the most popular vineyards in Greece. You will visit the state of the art winery facilities. You will learn everything for the production of Greek quality red wine and then you will visit the underground cellars with more than 1,000 French oak barriques. Finally, you will taste some of the best wines of the domain.
